Choosing Top Network Marketing Companies…The Inside Scoop: Part 1

You have decided that you want to look into the Network Marketing craze that everyone is talking about - the one that has been sweeping the nation for the past twenty years.  You keep hearing and reading how people’s lives have changed by making a financial killing in network marketing.  How they’re able to work from the comfort of home and spend more time with their families.  How they’re been able to “fire” their boss and set their own hours.

On the flip side, if you’ve done any homework at all, you’ve also heard and read about the people who have lost their life savings because of investing in a company that didn’t live up to its promises.  Perhaps they got stuck with hundreds, even thousands of dollars of worthless products and watched their dreams of financial success go right down the drain.

You’re probably asking yourself, "Can I really make a significant amount of money working from home? And, if I didn't get in on the bandwagon in the beginning, is it too late?" The answers are yes, you can make money working from home; and no, it's definitely not too late.

There are currently over half a million people in the United States who are millionaires.  Over 20% of them made their fortunes in the Network Marketing industry.  So, I think we can conclude that this incredible phenomenon is here to stay.

But what if you don’t have a lot of start-up cash available?  Network marketing is one of the only businesses available that allows a person with potentially no resources to start his or her own business with absolutely no limit on one’s financial success.

What I want to do in a series of 10 articles is give you some solid advice that will get you on the right track to choosing a legitimate top network marketing business.  If you’ve ever done an online search and typed in “home business” or “internet business opportunity” you know that there are hundreds of sites to consider.  So, where does one start?

Tip #1:  The Product

First, you have to find the business that you will find interesting and you will want to stick with.  And to do that, you need to examine the product that it is selling.  Take the time to study the company’s website thoroughly and ask yourself these questions:

1.  Is the product rock solid? Can it stand on its own apart from its compensation package?  Established network marketing companies should carry a diversified line of products, not just one dynamic product.  Beware of a company that puts “all its eggs in one basket.”  Diversification in any venture is always the key.

2.  Is the product simple to explain?  If it takes more than 30 seconds to explain the product to a potential client, it’s too complicated for the average person to understand.  Remember, we’re in sales.  And the rule of thumb in direct sales is less is more.  The less said, the better the odds are of closing the deal.

3.  Do you believe in the product?  Is it something you’d actually use?  Is it something you could convey to your mother or father?  If you don’t believe in the product, it will absolutely come through in your voice.  I’ve been in sales for 25 years, and the first thing I was taught was that people will sense hesitation or disbelief in your voice.  Whether you want it to or not, it will come across.

Once you find that company whose product is one that you can stand behind, you’ll be able to treat it as if it was yours, because after all - it is.
